Astral Jets is a new band featuring Dez Cadena (Black Flag, Misfits, etc) and Paul Roessler (Screamers, 45 Grave, etc), who also played together in the ’80s SST band DC3, and the lineup is rounded out by all three members of LA trio Backbiter (guitarist Jonathan Hall, bassist Heath Seifert, and drummer Bob Lee, the former of two of whom also played in Angry Samoans at separate points). As Punk News points out, Astral Jets’ debut album First Thought is out now as a limited CD release and two songs are streaming, the garage/psych-leaning title track “First Thought” and a cover of the Screamers’ own classic “Punish Or Be Damned.” Listen to both below.
