Denver black/death metallers Black Curse (whose members also play in Spectral Voice, Primitive Man, Khemmis and other bands from the fertile Denver metal scene–they also previously shared guitarist Morris Kolontyrsky with Blood Incantation but he is no longer in the band) released their killer debut LP Endless Wound in 2020, and now they’ve announced a followup, Burning in Celestial Poison, due October 25 via Sepulchral Voice (pre-order). The album was produced by Arthur Rizk, and it features five tracks that clock in at 44 minutes, including the nearly-12-minute lead single “Trodden Flesh.” The announcement reads:
A record supposed to shock, because of its ecstatic ruthlessness and massive fanatical malevolence, hovering deep below the compositions. It opens the doors to a world that is so unbelievable vast, that you risk to lose yourself in it, its depths defy exegesis.
4 curses are woven into 4 hymns of utter death-magic, which will lead you into the black abyss of the grand divine.
‘Burning in Celestial Poison‘ truly is an agonized infernal within, shattered and re-jointed into the darkness of the physical. Extreme intensity pointed cruelly towards the soul to extinguish the spirit.
“Trodden Flesh” is a hefty lead single that keeps the intensity at a high for its entire lengthy runtime, and you can hear that one below.
