Mobb Deep release new video after topping Pitchfork’s greatest rap albums of all time list

Eight years removed from Prodigy’s untimely death, Mobb Deep is heavily in the air right now. The NYC hip hop duo’s classic 1995 album The Infamous just topped Pitchfork’s The 100 Best Rap Albums of All Time list, beating fellow Queensbridge rapper Nas’ Illmatic (which topped Pitchfork’s reader’s poll version of the list, which had The Infamous at #21), and now they released a new video for “Against the World,” the lead single from their upcoming album Infinite which comes out on Nas’ Mass Appeal label next week.

Directed by Bain of the Free Lords, the “Against the World” video features new footage and vintage clips of Mobb Deep in the studio and across their career, as well as shots of their Queensbridge neighborhood. Watch that below.

Mobb Deep will be performing The Infamous on their co-headline tour with Raekwon who is performing Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (which came in at #15 on Pitchfork’s list). The tour hits NYC’s Brooklyn Paramount on December 7.

Just behind Mobb Deep on Pitchfork’s Best Rap Albums list are 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me, Juvenile’s 400 Degreez, Ghostface Killah’s Supreme Clientele, and Nas’ aformentioned Illmatic.
