UK rapper Little Simz said she’d “see us in ’25” when she closed out 2024 by releasing a new single, “Hello, Hi,” and now she’s announced her sixth album. Lotus is due out on May 9 via AWAL. The tracklist is still to be announced, but you can see the cover art below.
The first single is the percussive, menacing “Flood,” which features Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly. and was produced Miles Clinton James. (No sign of regular collaborator Inflo here.) Salomon Ligthelm directed the accompanying video, which you can watch below.
Little Simz has also been announced as the curator for the 30th edition of UK’s Meltdown Festival, which runs from June 12-22 at Southbank Centre. (Previous curators include Massive Attack, Robert Smith, Jarvis Cocker, ANOHNI, Grace Jones, and in 2024, Chaka Khan.) This year’s lineup is still to be announced; stay tuned.
