Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul & Jay Rock jump on Schoolboy Q “THat Part” remix

THat Part - Schoolboy Q

Much of the country has been saddened and angered by the recent Philando Castile and Alton Sperling shootings, and as a response to this, Schoolboy Q got in the studio and quickly put out a remix of his Kanye collab “THat Part.” In his final verse, Q references Sperling’s death:

Gangbangin’ like we stand for somethin’
When Alton Sterling gettin’ killed for nothin’
Two cowards in the car, they’re just there to film
Sayin’ #BlackLivesMatter should’ve died with him
Wrong nigga in your hood, you gon’ ride on him
White nigga with a badge, you gon’ let that slide?
Tell me how they sent that footage off and slept that night
I feel bad that my daughter gotta live this life
I’ll die for my daughter, gotta fight this fight

Q got the whole Black Hippy team to join him — Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock — and you can listen to the results below.

The original version of “THat Part” is on Q’s new album BLank Face LP, which is out today. Stream it and read our review here.

The album has an accompanying video trilogy, and you can check out parts one, two and three. Q also has tour dates coming up including NYC’s Panorama and a Panorama pre-show.
