GEORDIE GREEP
Geordie Greep will be on a short North American tour this spring, kicking off at Knockdown Center on March 21 (part of the venue’s Outline Series with Julianna Barwick & Mary Lattimore, Still House Plants, more), and from there heading to Baltimore, Richmond, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, and more.
STRAIGHT AHEAD (REUNION) w/ GORILLA BISCUITS, YOUTH OF TODAY, ETC
Short-lived ’80s-era NYHC band Straight Ahead are reuniting for at least two hometown shows this year, both headlined by Gorilla Biscuits and both featuring all-around great NYHC lineups. GB and SA hit Brooklyn Monarch on April 25 and 26, with Breakdown, Token Entry, C4, and Frothing Mad on 4/25 and Youth of Today, Underdog, Outburst, Identity Shock, and Stigmatism on 4/26. Both shows are sold out but you can join the waitlist.
TEXAS IS THE REASON (with PENFOLD and HIGH.)
NYC emo/post-hardcore vets Texas Is The Reason are keeping their reunion going in to 2026 and so far they have two shows at NJ’s Crossroads coming up this month, on January 24 and 25. NJ’s own ’90s-era emo vets Penfold are opening the 1/24 show, and 1/25 is with newer NJ band High. Tickets here.
CUPCAKKE
CupcaKKe will be on The Bakery Tour starting February 13 in Urbana, IL and running through April 26 in Albany. The NYC date is at Brooklyn Steel on March 26.
WINTER JAZZFEST 2026
NYC’s Winter Jazzfest gets underway this Thursday (1/8) and this year’s lineup features Meshell Ndegeocello, Kassa Overall, a tribute to Miles Davis’ ‘Bitches Brew,’ and lots more.
DAVID LEE ROTH
Former Van Halen wildman David Lee Roth will be heading out on “An Evening With” tour this spring, with NYC-area stops at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre on June 3, Asbury Park’s Stone Pony on June 5, and Long Island’s The Paramount on June 7.
SUN RA ARKESTRA
Still led by 101-years-young Marshall Allen, Sun Ra Arkestra have a busy 2026 schedule already and will kick off the year on Saturday, January 10 at the Guggenheim in NYC.
FACS
Chicago trio FACS, who released the great Wish Defense last year, will be on a short tour in February, including a free show at Union Pool on 2/10 with Autobahn.
ROYEL OTIS
The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival has announced its first show of the 2026 season: a ticketed benefit with Australia’s Royel Otis on July 18 at Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park with Ax and the Hatchetmen. A Royel Otis tour is probably in the works but the only other summer date in North America is currently Chicago’s Salt Shed on July 13.
PIG DESTROYER / DEADGUY
Grindcore greats Pig Destroyer and metalcore innovators Deadguy will play two NYC-area shows with Sex Prisoner and Mellow Harsher ahead of their appearance at Maryland Deathfest in May: Long Island’s Amityville Music Hall on 5/21 and NJ’s Crossroads on 5/22.

SUPERDRAG
Superdrag are looking to have a busy 2026: their breakthrough album Regretfully Yours turns 30 in March and John Davis is teasing their first new record in 17 years. They’ve also got a couple upcoming shows, playing multi-night runs in Nashville (Eastside Bowl on June 25-27) and Boston (Brighton Music Hall on October 9-10).
