Fyre Festival 2 begins ticket sales, $1.1 million “Prometheus” option included

After two documentaries and a few years in prison for wire fraud, famed scammer Billy McFarland says he’s really going forward with Fyre Festival II, the sequel to his epic fail 2017 event. Having announced it back in September, he’s now adjusted the dates — instead of in April, the 2nd edition of the festival is now set for May 30-June 2 on Isla Mujeres in Quintana Roo, Mexico. In an instagram post, he insists “FYRE FESTIVAL 2 IS REAL,” and that it’s being produced with Lostnights, who put on EDM and electronic events at Tehmplo, a venue in Quintana Roo. He’s promising “boundary-pushing excursions by day” and “intimate beach-side performances at night.”

Of course, no acts have been announced yet, but McFarland told People that the lineup would include “artists across electronic, hip hop, pop and rock,” adding “it’s not just music. We might have a professional skateboarder do a demonstration. We might have an MMA champion teach you techniques in the morning.”

McFarland has also begun ticket sales. For anyone foolish enough to trust him with their money, they include a $1,400 “general access” option, a $5,000 “elevated experience,” a $25,000 “Phoenix,” “artist access” option, and “Prometheus, The Fyre Starter,” which will run you $1,100,000. The site reads, “The origin of the Prometheus Pass is shrouded in secrecy. Legend has it that it was inspired by the Titan Prometheus, who defied the gods to gift humanity FYRE — a spark of creation and innovation. This pass is not for the faint of heart, nor is it for the casual attendee. It is for those who seek to rise above, who don’t just want to witness history but aspire to shape it.”

“I’m sure many people think I’m crazy for doing this again,” McFarland says. “But I feel I’d be crazy not to do it again. After years of reflection and now thoughtful planning, the new team and I have amazing plans for FYRE 2. The adventure seekers who trust the vision and take the leap will help make history. Thank you to my partners for the second chance.”
