Demise of Love is a new collaborative project from three very talented artists in UK dance music: Daniel Avery, Working Men’s Club (Sydney Minsky-Sargeant) and Ghost Culture (James Greenwood). They’ve just announced their self-titled debut EP which will be out May 30 via Domino.
Avery describes Demise of Love as “Three distinct sonic personalities coming together to create something new entirely, a search for a burning light that could only exist between the trio,” and that they went into the studio “armed only with a love for each other’s work.”
The first single from the EP is “Strange Little Consequence” which gurgles with synths and undulating basslines but is more on the atmospheric, hazy side of electronic music. The video was directed by Jak Payne who says, We wanted to create something really visually driven for this. A visual that gestures towards the breakdown of a relationship, through the clutter and detritus that is left behind.”
