Middle Aged Dad Jam Band, the cover band led by The State members David Wain and Ken Marino, are currently in NYC where they played Comic Relief Live at Jazz at Lincoln Center on Monday night. They were the house band for the gala event, which featured original Comic Relief hosts Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg, Amy Schumer, Tim Meadows, Phoebe Robinson, Alex Edelman, Matt Friend, a tribute to Robin Williams and more.
This was a bigger lineup of MADJB than usual, including friends and collaborators Craig Wedren (Shudder to Think) and Amy Miles, and “Weird Al” Yankovic joined them to cover Tommy Tutone’s new wave classic “867-5309.”
Middle Aged Dad Jam Band will play NYC again tonight (12/10) at Irving Plaza where they are promising “Many Surprise Guests.” Tickets are still available. (Check out the flyer below.) They’ve also got a few other shows on the horizon including a New Year’s Eve Show at Largo in LA that will also be livestreamed, as well as shows in Denver and Miami, and they’ll also be at SF Sketchfest in February. All dates are listed below.
