The New York City area is getting yet another stadium venue. Harrison, NJ’s Red Bull Arena, which opened in 2010 and is home of the Major League Soccer team New York Red Bulls, plans to start regularly hosting concerts. So far, the only time it hosted a concert was Dispatch in 2011.
It hosts 22,000 people at soccer games, though the venue’s general manager Marc de Grandpre says they can get it up to 25,000 for concerts. He tills Billboard that he thinks it’s an attractive option for artists who want to play outdoor arenas but “can’t fill 79,000 seats,” which is about what the competing MetLife Stadium hosts for concerts.
The venue, located at 600 Cape May St, is easily accessible from NYC. It’s about a half hour ride on the PATH train.
