Les Savy Fav released OUI, LSF — their first album in 14 years — a couple weeks ago, and last night appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform single “World Got Great.” The band’s Syd Butler and Seth Jabour know the studio well, as they’ve been members of the show’s 8G Band since the start, and it’s pretty clear they were given the run of the place for this. Or at least frontman Tim Harrington was; he came out in a dark suit and a golf hat with his hair and beard died orange and a very distinctive spray tan on his face, looking more than a little like Donald Trump. For Les Savy Fav, this was actually pretty subtle and the joke probably didn’t play to those in the studio audience.
When Harrington did an impressive mid-song costume change, things got typically wild and he ended up singing atop Seth’s desk before going into the audience to shake some hands. It’s a lot of fun and you can watch that below.
The band begin their tour tonight (5/16) Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. They also have shows this summer ahead of their appearance at Pitchfork Fest, and they’ve just added fall dates in L.A., Atlanta and Austin. All dates are below.
