David Lynch announced earlier this week that he was not going to be directing episodes of the new Twin Peaks after budget issues with Showtime could not be worked out. Whether he is really dunzo or it’s just a very public negotiation technique, it’s pretty clear that for most people Twin Peaks without Lynch’s active involvement is something that’s not very appealing. That includes the cast of the original series, most of whom participated in an online video titled “Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like…??” Watch Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey), Mädchen Amick (Shelly), Catherine E. Coulson (The Log Lady), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy), Peggy Lipton (Norma) and more fill in that blank, below.
One actor is noticably absent: Kyle MacLachlan, aka Agent Cooper, one of the few announced original cast members to have been announced as coming back for the new episodes. (Also no Lara Flynn Boyle, pictured above, who played Donna.) Let’s hope they work it out!
