
Michael Stipe was on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night (12/15) to talk about the 25th anniversary edition of R.E.M.‘s Out of Time, his visual art projects, and producing the new Fischerspooner album. He also participated in a cathartic reworking of R.E.M.’s “It’s The End of The World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)” with most of 2016’s significant news items — there’s been a lot — packed in and retitled “It’s the End of the Year as We Know It.” Stephen does most of the singing, actually, and look for an appearance from James Franco doing the Mike Mills harmonies.
