AppleTV+ Godzilla series ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ shares first trailer (watch)

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, AppleTV+’s big budget Godzilla series, premieres November 17, and they’ve just released the first trailer, which you can watch below.

The series stars Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell, who play the same character in two different time periods. Here’s the official synopsis: “Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters also stars Anna Sawai, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, (John Goodman reprises his Kong: Skull Island role in a cameo), and was developed and produced by Chris Black (Severance) and Matt Fraction (Hawkeye). Matt Shakman (WandaVision) directed the first two episodes.

There’s a new Godzilla movie from Toho Studios on the way, too.
