Xylouris White, the experimental duo made up of Cretan lutist George Xylouris and Dirty Three drummer Jim White, have announced a string of US tour dates in support of their upcoming second album, Black Peak. The run kicks off with a performance at NY’s Basilica Soundscape and includes a Brooklyn show on Sept 28 show at Union Pool (tickets). They’ll also play National Sawdust on November 18 with details still to come. All tour dates are listed below.
The duo has also released a new track from the upcoming album entitled “Forging.” It marries White’s motorik-jazz rhythms with Xylouris’ garage-y lute licks, and adds vocals absent from their instrumental debut. Have a listen:
