Actor Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water, Boardwalk Empire) and Jason Narducy (Bob Mould Band, Superchunk) are gearing up for their 2024 tour where they will celebrate R.E.M.’s Murmur by playing it in full on tour, backed by drummer Jon Wurster (Superchunk, Bob Mould, Mountain Goats), guitarist Dag Juhlin (Poi Dog Pondering), bassist Nick Macri (The Zinc, C-Clamp), and pianist Vijay Tellis-Nayak (piano). Shannon and Narducy stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday night to talk about the tour and give us a taste of what to expect.
Narducy and Shannon talked about their friendship, how the project came about and the upcoming tour before playing R.E.M.’s classic debut single “Radio Free Europe” with their band. Watch both below.
Meanwhile, Shannon & Narducy have added a couple West Coast shows at the start of the tour, playing two nights as part of San Francisco Sketchfest. They’ll then head to the East Coast with dates wrapping up in Brooklyn at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Valentine’s Day (2/14). All dates are listed below.
