Ultimate Painting‘s third album, Dusk, is out September 30 via Trouble in Mind. This time there is more symbiosis between principal members Jack Cooper and James Haore, making it a little less obvious whose songs are whose. (I think it’s their best yet.) Earlier this summer we got the album’s opening cut, “Bills,” which was written/sung by Jack Cooper and now we get the LP’s second track, “Song for Brian Jones,” which is from Haore. His songs tend to be a little more influenced by ’60s British psychedelia and “Song for Brian Jones,” is lovely, chiming, and melodic. Watch the video below.
Pre-orders for Dusk are up now. The band just wrapped up a North American tour that had them on the West Coast and in the Midwest. They’ve got UK/EU dates planned for October, let’s hope they come back across the Atlantic soon. All dates are listed below.
