Trey Anastasio announces fall tour including Beacon Theatre residency for charity

Phish frontman Trey Anastasio is celebrating the fifth anniversary of his 2020 Beacon Jams residency at NYC’s Beacon Theatre with another Beacon Jams residency. Unlike the first one, which was streaming only during the height of Covid, this one will have live audiences and happens November 28, 29 & 30. Each night will be different, including sets from the Trey Anastasio Band and The Rescue Squad Strings. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 15 at 12 PM with presales starting Wednesday, August 13 at 12 PM.

“The Beacon Jams shows were the most artistically satisfying thing I’ve ever worked on,” Anastasio says. “They meant so much to everyone involved — not just the audience, but the musicians as well. Everyone was hungry for music and connection, and somehow we found a way to create community in the middle of such a messed-up, isolating moment. Even the name felt meaningful — like we were shining a searchlight into the fog and manifesting something positive out of something so negative.”

Like the original Beacon Jam run, proceeds from these shows will go to The Divided Sky Foundation, a foundation he set up to help people affected by addiction. “At the time, addiction and alcoholism numbers were climbing, and there we were celebrating this dream of creating a sober retreat that could truly help,” Trey says. “Now, five years later, that dream is a fully functioning facility doing incredible work. I’ve never been part of anything so pure in its intent. Musically, it was the pinnacle of my career because it combined everything I’ve ever done — Phish, TAB, my solo acoustic work, and the more orchestral projects. My hope is to bring that same spirit of openness and inclusiveness to these three anniversary shows.”

UPDATE: Trey has now announced solo dates leading up to the Beacon shows with stops in Denver, Cincinnati, Detroit, Akron, Syracuse and more. All dates are listed below.

Meanwhile, Phish just played two nights at Forest Hills Stadium and and Trey opened Sunday night of Dead & Company’s Phish 60th anniversary shows in San Francisco, where he also joined them on “Scarlet Begonias” > “Fire on the Mountain.” Phish also have more tour dates in September.
