Tour news: Smashing Pumpkins, Interpol, Counting Crows, Supersuckers, Secret Sisters, more

SMASHING PUMPKINS

Smashing Pumpkins have added more North American headline shows to their 2024 tour, which also includes dates as part of Green Day’s Saviors stadium tour (with Rancid and The Linda Lindas). Newly announced stops include Kansas City, St. Louis, Las Vegas, Reno, Des Moises, and more. The Green Day tour hits NYC’s Citi Field on August 5.

COUNTING CROWS

Counting Crows have announced a few summer tour dates, including NYC’s SummerStage in Central Park on July 11, as well as other Northeast shows in Buffalo, Uncasville, Portland, and Essex Juction. They’ve also got August shows in Des Moines and Costa Mesa, as well as dates with Santana.

THE HIVES

Swedish garage rock greats The Hives will continue supporting 2023’s The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, their first album in a decade, on a fall North American tour. The new shows surround their festival appearances at Sea.Hear.Now and Oceans Calling, and follow their summer run supporting Foo Fighters.

MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA / MILITARIE GUN

Manchester Orchestra‘s fourth album, Cope, turns 10 this year, and to celebrate they’ve announced a “10 years of Cope” tour, with Militarie Gun will be along for the ride.

THE BLACK KEYS

The Black Keys‘ guest-filled new album Ohio Players is out this Friday (4/5) via Nonesuch, and they’ve announced a tour supporting it. The “International Players Tour” runs from September 17 in Tulsa through November 12 in Detroit, and most shows are with The Head and the Heart.

ST VINCENT

St Vincent releases her new album All Born Screaming later this month, and she’ll be on tour in support with a variety of special guest openers, including Spoon, Eartheater, Yves Tumor, and more.

SUPERSUCKERS

Cowpunk lifers Supersuckers will be on tour all summer long, including June and early July dates with The Rumours, and then more July shows with Lords of Altamont and Ravagers. The NYC stop is a Rocks Off Boat Cruise on 7/11.

INTERPOL

Interpol have announced a free show at Mexico City’s Zócalo on April 20, which with a 280,000 capacity is the biggest show of their career to date. The band will also be on tour across the Southwest and West Coast surrounding festival appearances at Shaky Knees, Kilby Block Party and Cruel World, and will also be on an Antics 20th anniversary tour in Europe this fall. FRUIT BATS

Fruit Bats are playing Merge Records’ 35th anniversary festival in July and are on tour surrounding that appearance. They’ve just added two NYC shows happening just before Merge 35 that they’re calling the “Gotham Doubleheader.”

CORTEX

French jazz-funk instrumentalists Cortex — who have been sampled by everyone from MF DOOM, Tyler and dozens more — will be playing their 1975 album Troupeau Bleu in full on a North American tour this summer.

SECRET SISTERS

Real-life sisters Laura Rogers and Lydia Slagle released their new Secret Sisters album Mind, Man, Medicine last week, and they’re on the road in support, including a few Northeast shows that were recently announced. The NYC stop is at Le Poisson Rouge on August 16.

WOODS / AVEY TARE

Woods and Avey Tare’s co-headline tour starts this weekend and includes a big NYC show at Knockdown Center on 4/13 with Natural Information Society and Laraaji.
