EMPRESS OF
Empress Of has added more release shows for upcoming album For Your Consideration. There are now three in NYC (Elsewhere Zone One on May 22, 24, 25), two in Toronto (The Drake Underground on May 31 and June 1) and two in Los Angeles (The Roxy on June 7 & 8).
I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE LIVE
Tim Robinson is taking his very popular Netflix sketch comedy series I Think You Should Leave on the road this spring. Co-creator Zach Kanin will be joining, along with other guests still to be announced.
FRANK TURNER
Frank Turner has announced spring and summer US tour dates, most of which are with Amigo the Devil, Bridge City Sinners, Micah Schnabel and Vanessa Jean Speckman. The tour includes a NYC-area show at Long Island’s Paramount on May 26.
TINARIWEN
Tuareg group Tinariwen will be back in North America this summer for Newport Folk Fest, and they’ve scheduled a tour around that appearance. Dates kick off July 20 in Atlanta and wrap up August 13 in Los Angeles.
IRON & WINE
Iron & Wine’s first album in seven years arrives in April and he’ll be on tour this summer.
CHASTITY
Chastity have announced the Trilogy of Films Tour where they have “made films to sync with our 3 records totalling 66.6 minutes” and will be “playing them live in 33 cities.” That includes Brooklyn’s Union Pool on May 3.
ERICA DE CASIER
Erika de Casier‘s new album Still arrives later this month, and she’s announced a tour surrounding her appearance at Coachella.
ERIC SLICK (DR DOG)
Dr Dog’s Eric Slick has announced a new solo album, New Age Rage, that will be out April 26 via Thirty Tigers. The accompanying tour stops in NYC at TV Eye on April 26 with Skyler Skjelset.
GO AHEAD AND DIE (MAX CAVALERA) / BODYBOX
“Remember the mosh pit, the sweat, and the aggression, Go Ahead And Die is bringing all that back through their live show,” says Sepultura co-founder Max Cavalera of Go Ahead and Die’s tour, which is currently underway. “Together with Bodybox we’re going to set the underground on fire and make Metal dangerous again!” The tour is with, at various points along the way, Second Shooter, Half Heard Voices, Madzilla, and Deep Within. The tour hits Brooklyn at Saint Vitus on February 10 with Half Heard Voices.
DEAD BROKE
Long Island-based DIY label and distro Dead Broke will celebrate 22 years in business with a pair of New York shows.
INKARCERATION 2024
Danny Wimmer-presented music and tattoo festival Inkcarceration has announced its 2024 edition, happening on July 19-21 at The Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, OH. It includes The Offspring, Dropkick Murphys, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Poison The Well, Biohazard, The Acacia Strain, Bad Omens and many more.
LIAM KAZAR / KATIE VON SCHLEICHER
Katie Von Schleicher, who released the wonderful A Little Touch of Schleicher in the Night last year, will play Brooklyn’s Union Pool on March 28, opening for Liam Kazar (who played on her album). Liam also has a Chicago show at Hideout on April 7.
