Montreal band TOPS‘ new album Sugar at the Gate is out today via Arbutus. They’ve further refined their ’80s-style pop of 2014’s very good Picture You Staring, with a better batch of songs to boot. With this, they’ve really hit upon a TOPS sound. It’s a great lazy summer day album, and you can stream the whole album below.
TOPS will be on tour starting in September and will play Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on 9/29. Tickets are on sale now. You can catch TOPS in NYC before that, as part of the Full Moon Fest which happens July 8 on Governors Island and also features Vic Mensa, Kelela, Connan Mockasin, Abra and more.
