Thursday are in the midst of their Full City Devolución tour, which celebrates 25 years of Full Collapse, 20 years of A City By The Light Divided, and 15 years of No Devolución with sets pulling from all three. They’ll focus on A City By The Light Divided, playing it in full for the first time ever, at a special Rocks Off boat show in NYC. It happens aboard the Liberty Bell on June 4, and it’s with Tim Kasher of Cursive and Old Canes. Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 9 at 10 AM ET.
“When we celebrated War All The Time a few years ago, we knew that we had to do something special, so with the aid of our good friends Jake and his magnificent crew over at Rocks Off we commandeered an olde worlde river boat and sailed up to the Palisades Cliffs to be in the shadow of the New York skyline,” Thursday say. “These shows were nothing short of magical. We are currently out on our Full City Devolucion tour and it is one the best tours the band has ever undertaken. We have played Full Collapse as a complete piece before and we even played No Devolucion in full as part of a pandemic livestream but it occurred to us that we have never played A City By The Light Divided in its entirety before. We then had the revelation that if we were ever going to do it, the only place it made sense was to bask in the City Lights of Brooklyn and Manhattan, upon the water and let lady liberty’s torch shine down upon us in New York Harbor. There will be no City tour and other towns will not be added! This is a true New York moment for the real ones and will arguably be the only place we ever play City from front to back. Thursday’s tour includes NYC-area stops at Long Island’s Amityville Music Hall on April 28 and Brooklyn’s soon-to-close Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 29. See all dates below.
