Thom Yorke has composed the score to Confidenza, Daniele Luchetti’s feature film adaptation of Domenico Starnone’s novel of the same name. The soundtrack will be out digitally this Friday (4/26) via XL, with physical formats out July 12 (preorder). This is Thom’s first film score since Suspiria in 2018.
For Confidenza, Yorke once again collaborated with producer Sam Petts-Davies — who worked on The Smile’s Wall of Eyes — and the London Contemporary Orchestra, as well as a jazz ensemble which included Robert Stillman and fellow The Smile bandmate Tom Skinner. You can listen to two pieces from Confidenza: “Prize Giving,” and “Knife’s Edge,” which you can also watch in context of the film. Check those out below.
Confidenza stars Elio Germano, Federica Rosellini, Vittoria Puccini, Pilar Fogliati and Isabella Ferrari and is out April 24 in Italian cinemas. You can watch the trailer, which features more of Yorke’s score, below.
