After reissuing their 2005 LP No Wow and taking it on tour in 2022, The Kills are back with their first new music in almost seven years: double single “New York”/”LA Hex.” “New York” hits hard with assertive, blaring synths under Alison Mosshart’s inviting vocals, while “LA Hex” is slower, sultry and guitar-forward. In celebration of the new tracks, The Kills will be hosting events in NYC and LA: they’ll DJ a block party and pop-up on Thursday at photographer Steven Sebring’s Lower East Side studio (July 27 at 99 Attorney St., 6-9 PM), and an event on August 3 at the Viper Room in Los Angeles, 5-8 PM, followed by a private, RSVP-only party the band are DJing.
