The Afghan Whigs start their tour with Mercury Rev on Saturday in Woodstock, and just ahead of that they’ve shared a new single. “Duvateen” plays up to Greg Dulli’s soulful side on this widescreen rock number that fills your whole sonic field of vision.
“When I finished “Duvateen,” it felt like my life passing before my eyes,” Dulli says. “I’m at a precipice in life where I can look behind and clearly see the forest of my youth, but I can also see the path to the other side. And it’s going to inform what I do for the rest of my days.” You can listen to “Duvateen” below.
This is the second new Afghan Whigs song released this year, but still no word if these are both from a new album. Stay tuned.
