Emo veterans Texas is the Reason made their return to the stage over the weekend, playing their first shows in nearly a decade, a two night run at Crossroads in Garwood, NJ (where they covered Sugar with Ted Leo). They’ll be on tour through October, wrapping up with their set at Las Vegas’ Best Friends Forever, and now they’ve announced another new show later in the fall. They’ll return to NYC on December 12 at Webster Hall, with “special guests” that are still to be announced. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 19 at 10 AM ET, with a presale starting Wednesday, September 17 at 10 AM ET.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve played New York City,” they write, “and we would like to invite you to celebrate 30 years of Texas is the Reason, where it all began.”
Guitarist Norman Brannon isn’t taking part in the reunion, which also includes Riot Fest, Furnace Fest, a show with Jawbreaker, and more. See all dates below.
