Taking Back Sunday will celebrate the holidays in NJ and on Long Island; they’ve announced their Holiday Specular shows, which happen at Wantagh, NY’s Mulcahy’s on December 4 and 5 and Sayreville, NJ’s Starland Ballroom on December 6 and 7. They’ve lined up a couple great newer emo/punk bands that are both signed to their former label home of Hopeless Records, Sweet Pill and Sincere Engineer, who play one LI show and one NJ show each.
Sweet Pill open night one at Mulcahy’s (also with Modern Chemistry) and night two at Starland (also with Footballhead), and Sincere Engineer open night two at Mulcahy’s and night one at Starland, both with Hollyglen. Tickets to all four nights go on sale Friday, September 13 at 12 PM ET, with presales happening now. (Click the venue links above for tickets.)
Taking Back Sunday wrapped up their summer tour with Citizen last month, and they play Riot Fest next, then have shows lined up with The Used and Raue as they head to Vegas for When We Were Young. See all dates below.
Sweet Pill, who released their great new EP, Starchild, in March, also play Riot Fest, and before that they have a free NYC show with Taraneh, Dirt Buyer, and Body Meat (DJ set) at Baby’s All Right on Friday (9/13). They also play Brooklyn Monarch on September 27 as part of Between the Buried and Me‘s A Home Away From Home fest.
Sincere Engineer are on tour supporting New Found Glory now — we recently caught them in Asbury Park — and their most recent release is last year’s Cheap Grills. They play Riot Fest as well.
Sweet Pill and Sincere Engineer also both recently contributed covers to Hopeless Records’ 30th anniversary Hopelessly Devoted To You cover series.
