Vagabon (aka NYC-via-Cameroon musician Lætitia Tamko) releases her debut album Infinite Worlds next week (2/24) via Father/Daughter, but she’s streaming the whole thing now. Lætitia mixes folky songwriting with crunchy, crashing indie rock and works a bit of electronics in too. She’s also got a hell of a voice — she can get soft and quiet but can also belt it. The most direct comparison I can think of is Hop Along, but Vagabon is really her own force. Listen for yourself below, via NPR.
Vagabon is also touring, including a hometown show on record release day at Baby’s All Right (2/24). That show is with Mal Devisa and Jelani Sei. Tickets are still available.
