Southern California pop punk/hardcore blenders Stateside left a big impression when they opened the Koyo, Anxious, One Step Closer tour earlier this year, and now they’ve signed to Pure Noise, which is also home to Koyo (and The Story So Far, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Knocked Loose, Drug Church, and a bunch of others). Their first single for the label is “Thirty Mile Stretch,” which comes on a 7″ (co-released by their former label, New Morality Zine) that also includes the song they put out right before the tour in March, “Since Last Season.” Picking up where that song and their 2023 debut EP It’s What We Do left off, “Thirty Mile Stretch” is a hardcore-infused pop punk bottle rocket in the vein of stuff like New Found Glory, Saves The Day, The Movielife, etc. It also fits in perfectly with the melodic hardcore revival that Koyo, Anxious, and OSC are leading.
“‘Thirty Mile Stretch’ is about reflecting on choices in the past that have led to great personal suffering, and how those cycles can be broken for the future,” the band says. Check out the song and its video below.
Stateside are gearing up for another full US tour this fall, opening for Bearings, Broadside, and Unwell. That hits Asbury Park on November 16 at House of Independents and NYC on November 17 at Le Poisson Rouge. All dates are listed below.
