Show Me The Body have never been shy about their own Jewish heritage or their opinions on Israel, so it’s no surprise they and CORPUS have announced a pair of “Support for Gaza” benefit shows, happening in San Fernando, CA (The Midnight Hour on November 9) and NYC (TV Eye on December 5). Limited presale tickets to the CA show are available online (NYC is sold out) and free tickets for both shows will be available at the door (based on capacity) with a proof of donation to the Palestinian Youth Movement or Within Our Lifetime. They’re also calling for attendees to email their representatives and demand a ceasefire.
A statement on the event page reads:
OUR GOAL IS TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL EFFORTS OF THE PALESTINIAN YOUTH MOVEMENT AND WITHIN OUR LIFETIME ORGANIZATIONS AS THEY STAND AGAINST THE GENOCIDE IN GAZA AND THE ISRAELI OCCUPATION. CORPUS SUPPORTS AND ENDORSES ANTI-ZIONISM, THE RIGHT OF ALL PALESTINIAN REFUGEES TO RETURN HOME TO A FREE PALESTINE, AND INTERNATIONAL RESISTANCE TO IMPERIALIST VIOLENCE.
THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A SHOW FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF THE AUDIENCE. THIS IS MUSIC AND PROGRAMMING MEANT TO INVIGORATE THE CALL TO ACTION IN WHICH WE DEMAND THAT YOU JOIN US AND OTHERS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST U.S. IMPERIALISM. WHILE IN ATTENDANCE WE INVITE YOU TO OBTAIN INFORMATION & RESOURCES, INTERACT WITH SPEAKERS & THOSE TABLING, AND JOIN AN ORGANIZATION TO GET INVOLVED IN YOUR LOCAL FIGHT.
