Scuz icons Royal Trux reformed in 2015, playing shows in Los Angeles and New York City, and have continued to leave a trail ever since. Around the time of those initial LA and NYC shows, Jennifer Herrema and Neil Haggerty decided to make a new record. Their first since the early ’00s and, in true Trux fashion, they made it in two days (one in each city), “live and unrehearsed.” The album is titled Platinum Tips and Ice Cream, will be out June 16 via Drag City. No music has been shared yet but album art and tracklist can be found below. Pre-orders are available.
Royal Trux are in Austin for SXSW and if you’re there you can catch them tonight (3/16) and Friday (3/17) at Hotel Vegas. They’ll also play Detroit in May ahead of a European tour. All tour dates are listed below.
