Los Angeles band Rocket have announced their debut album, R Is For Rocket, which will be out October 3 via Transgressive/Canvasback. It was produced by the band’s Desi Scaglione and the band say “R is for Rocket is about relationships, the most important part of life; relationships with your friends, your parents, your girlfriend or boyfriend, and most importantly your relationship with yourself.”
The album includes previously released singles “One Million” and “Crossing Fingers,” and they’ve just shared the new single “Wide Awake” which they say is “the perfect balance of all the elements of this record.” The band are not shy about their ’90s alt-rock influences which are all over this roaring, hazy track. The video, directed by Jaxon Whittington, pays homage to the ’80s, though, nodding to Beastie Boys, Twisted Sister and Risky Business. Watch that below.
Rocket will support their album on tour this year, including UK dates opening for The Smashing Pumpkins, and headline shows in North America, including Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on November 8. Their full tour schedule is below.
