Real Estate released their sixth album, Daniel, back in February, and to celebrate they played a special release show for “Daniels Only” at Brooklyn’s Union Pool. Given the theme of the night, they opened the show with a cover of Elton John‘s “Daniel” which ended up being a setlist staple this year. (Elton saw video of their Union Pool performance and called it “really beautiful.”) They’ve now made a studio version of their version of “Daniel” which is out today. It keeps the spirit of Sir Elton’s 1973 worldwide hit but they also bring their own breezy style to it. Listen below.
