Queens of the Stone Age were forced to cancel most of their July shows when Josh Homme needed emergency surgery. Their tour was set to resume in August with some festival appearances, but they pulled out of those dates too on “doctors’ orders,” with Jack White replacing them. Now Queens of the Stone Age have cancelled the remainder of their 2024 shows. “Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care throughout the year,” a statement from the band says. Shows in Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago, and Madison will be postponed to 2025, and their sets at Soundside Music Festival, Mempho Music Festival, and Corona Capital have been cancelled entirely.
Homme was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and had surgery to treat it. He hasn’t spoken about the specifics of his current medical issue, however.
