Queens of the Stone Age have cancelled the remainder of their July shows in Europe, which were scheduled to run through the end of the month. “QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery,” a message from the band on social media reads. “Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.” See the cancelled dates below.
The band had previously cancelled their set at Italy’s AMA Festival on July 5, but they made it to Milan for their set at I-Days in Milan the next night, on July 6.
Queens of the Stone Age’s tour is currently set to resume on August 8 at Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg, with North American dates starting in September. See all dates below.
Homme previously discussed being diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and having a surgery to treat it. He told Revolver last year, “Cancer is just the cherry on top of an interesting time period, you know? I’m extremely thankful that I’ll get through this, and I’ll look back at this as something that’s fucked up — but will have made me better. I’m cool with that. There’s a lot of stuff I want to do. And there’s a lot of people I want to do that with.” No word if that diagnosis is related to this surgery, however.
