Fun Fun Fun Fest is no more, but former booker Graham Williams is throwing the very similar Sound on Sound Fest in McDade, TX (right outside Austin) with Beach House, Explosions in the Sky, Run the Jewels, Descendents, Young Thug, Thursday, Guided by Voices, FLAG, Youth of Today, Carcass, Bob Mould, and more. Now it’s been announced that Pussy Riot was added to the lineup, which is the first announcement of the programming for the spoken word/comedy/podcast/panel stage of the festival. Key info: Two members of Pussy Riot — Maria Alyokhina and Alexandra Lukyanova (AKA Sasha Bogino) — will be on hand Sunday, November 6 at SOS Fest to screen a special extended trailer of the upcoming documentary “Act and Punishment” by Yevgeny Mitt, which is the full story of Pussy Riot with parallels from Russian tsarist history. After the screening they will speak about their artistic and human rights work followed by a Q&A. The exact time of this panel is TBD.
