Montreal psych trio Population II have announced a new EP, Serpent Échelle, which will be out April 19 via Bonsound. The album was produced by Chocolat’s Emmanuel Éthier and Dominic Vanchesteing and you can check out the album art and tracklist below.
The first single is “R.B.,” a song that starts slow and moody — lots of cello and minor chords — but builds up steam into a a real freakout ripper. Watch the video, directed by Didier Pigeon-Perreault, below.
Population II will be in Austin this week during SXSW and later this spring will be on tour with Meatbodies (who just released a new album), including the Brooklyn show at Market Hotel on April 27. All dates are listed below.
