10 years ago, Paul played Irving Plaza on Valentine’s Day (which is in three days), and this will be an even more intimate show than that one was. Bowery Ballroom holds about 600 people, a far cry from the 80,000+ person MetLife Stadium that Paul played during his last NYC-area appearance. He did a similarly small, last-minute show at Highline Ballroom in 2007 too.
Paul is in NYC this week for the three-hour SNL 50th anniversary special that’s airing live on Sunday (2/16). This all comes shortly after The Beatles’ won the Best Rock Performance Grammy for their “final” song “Now and Then,” and after Paul attended the Super Bowl. Paul was also in NYC in November for a screening of the new Beatles movie Beatles ’64, which you can read our review of.
