The Fall‘s influence on indie rock is wide reaching, and on some bands you can really hear it, like with Pavement or Parquet Courts. The latter’s A. Savage has just shared a cover of “Frightened,” the opening cut from The Fall’s debut album, Live at the Witch Trials. It’s a pretty straight up cover but he does it with passion and it makes for a nice tribute to Mark E Smith who died just a few weeks ago. Listen to it, and the original, below.
A. Savage just wrapped a European tour with Ultimate Painting’s Jack Cooper (they toured North America together in 2017). Parquet Courts are playing West Coast dates this month, and will be in Austin for Levitation 2018. All dates are listed below.
