Origami Angel have announced a new album, Feeling Not Found, due September 27 via Counter Intuitive Records, and you can pre-order it from the band’s new early-2000s Windows-looking website feelingnotfound.com. It was produced by Will Yip, and it features recent single “Fruit Wine” as well as two new songs that were just released with a double music video, “Dirty Mirror Selfie” and “Where Blue Light Blooms.”
“Dirty Mirror Selfie” starts out with a riff that sounds like it could be kicking off a metalcore song, but it’s a red herring, or at least just a teaser. It instead flows right into Gami’s trademark sunny emo-pop, and it’s only around the two-and-a-half minute mark that Gami turn it into a mini breakdown. “Where Blue Light Blooms” starts out more in clean, mathy, jazzy territory, before also becoming an emo-pop banger, with a shreddy guitar solo to boot. Gami have also announced a headlining tour with stacked support from Arm’s Length, Macseal, and Forests. That kicks off in Nashville on October 24 and ends in NYC on November 24 at Webster Hall. Tickets for the whole tour go on sale Friday (7/26), and you can find all dates listed below.
Arm’s Length recently wrapped up a run on the Wax Bodega tour, and they were great when we caught them in Brooklyn. Macseal are fresh off releasing their power-poppy sophomore album Permanent Repeat on Counter Intuitive. Forests, a US Midwest-style emo band from Sinagapore, last released the very good Get In Losers, We’re Going to Eternal Damnation in 2022 via Dog Knights.
