Liam Gallagher fanned the flames of a potential Oasis reunion during his set at Reading and Leeds where he performed Definitely, Maybe in full and on social media over the weekend, and the band since launched a teaser suggesting they’re announcing something on Tuesday (8/27) at 8 AM UK time.
UPDATE: It’s official, Oasis will be back in 2025.
Liam and Noel shared the teaser on their personal accounts too. Stay tuned to find out what their official announcement will be, but meanwhile, UK paper The Sunday Times reported that sources in the industry say that Oasis are holding multiple night runs at Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s Wembley Stadium in Summer 2025, with further rumors that a headline slot at Glastonbury might be added as well.
British tabloid The Sun reports that sources tell them Oasis are planning to launch a comeback that “could easily rake in more than £400 million.” A source reportedly said: “Noel and Liam are never going to be the best of friends but they want to bring Oasis back for the fans.”
“They aren’t getting any younger and the demand is huge. They decided it was now or never.”
“Noel dug his heels in for a long time but has finally caved and agreed to return.”
“He spoke to Liam on the phone and they are on the same page.”
“They know this reunion will go down in music history.”
The Sun also reports that Liam and Noel are the only original Oasis members expected to take part in the reunion, and that they’ll be backed by members of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (which currently includes both guitarist Gem Archer and drummer Chris Sharrock who were in the late-’00s lineup of Oasis).
Liam also dedicated “Half The World Away” to Noel during his Reading set:
