Presale registration for the Oasis reunion shows took place this week, and as you’d probably guess, the demand for these shows is very, very high. The actual presale doesn’t even begin until Friday (8/30), but Oasis have already gone ahead and added three more dates to the tour: Manchester’s Heaton Park on July 16, London’s Wembley Stadium on July 30, and Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on August 12. The band also says, “Due to a last minute surge in pre-sale ballot entries, a number of confirmation emails are still being processed and sent out. The deadline to confirm your entry has now been extended to 10am BST tomorrow morning (Friday 30th August). If successful in the ballot, you will be contacted tomorrow by 5pm BST with pre-sale access information. Thank you for your patience.”
After the UK/Ireland shows, Oasis are promising to play “other continents outside of Europe later next year.” They’ve said that they won’t be playing any festivals though.
As for who will be in Oasis at these shows, Liam and Noel Gallagher are both confirmed, and there are rumors that original Oasis member Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs (who currently plays in Liam’s band) will be involved. The reunion will also reportedly feature members of Noel’s Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, which includes guitarist Gem Archer and drummer Chris Sharrock, who both previously played in Oasis.
Oasis’ 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe turns 30 this week, and the band will release a 30th anniversary deluxe edition on Friday (8/30).
