Belarusian group Molchat Doma release their anticipated new album Belaya Polosa next month, and they’ve shared the title track. “Written in LA after more than a year of living in a new place, the song captures the interplay of past and present,” the band says. “It reflects the realization that you’re no longer drawn to where you left, yet you don’t completely sever ties. It’s as if life has been paused. The lyrics explore self-understanding across time, the evolution of your social circle, and an outsider’s view of people from a ‘past life’.”
Ambar Navarro directed the accompanying video, which was inspired by filmmakers like Ingmar Bergman and Andrei Tarkovsky, and music videos on MTV in the ’90s. Watch it below.
Molchat Doma have also announced a 2025 North America tour, running through January, February, and into March. It follows their their set at Desert Daze and fall 2024 tour of Europe and the UK, and most dates are with LA synthwave band Sextile. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 9 at 10 AM local.
