UK band Modern Nature will release The Heat Warps later this month, and they’ve got West Coast dates supporting it in December. They’ve just announced East Coast and Midwest shows that will happen in January, including Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, and more. Both the West Coast and East Coast shows — their first since January 2020 — will be with former Oh Sees singer Brigid Dawson, and Modern Nature will be her backing band, The Mothers Network. That’s a great double bill, and all dates are listed below.
The January tour wraps up in Brooklyn at Union Pool on 1/24 and tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, August 8 at 10 AM.
The Heat Warps is out August 29 via Bella Union and finds the band, led by Jack Cooper (Ultimate Painting, Mazes), in more traditional song territory than on their more exploratory, improvisational early records while still maintaining that organic Modern Nature sound. They’ve just shared a new song from it, “Alpenglow,” which Jack notes “is an optical phenomenon and the name given to the colours around a setting sun. It ties in with the album title in terms of how unseen forces affect the physical world.” Watch the video below.
