MJ Lenderman, who clearly has a love of Pixar films given the Lightning McQueen reference on his excellent new album Manning Fireworks, has just put out a new video for one of the album’s songs, “You Don’t Know the Shape I’m In,” which is about “a defective model who struggles to make sense of the world he’s born into,” per a press release. “Ultimately, this is our attempt at a 1:1 remake of Toy Story 2.” The video was directed by Chuck Shreve and Angel James and you can watch it below.
Lenderman is in the midst of the European leg of his ongoing tour with his backing band The Wind now, and he’s announced new shows in Australia and New Zealand, happening in March and April of 2025.
