Michael Stipe, Kim Gordon, Karen O & more playing The Music Of Patti Smith benefit at Carnegie Hall

City Winery founder and CEO Michael Dorf‘s annual “The Music Of…” benefit show will celebrate Patti Smith on March 26 at Carnegie Hall, and the lineup has been announced. Rolling Stone reports that it includes Michael Stipe, Kim Gordon, The National‘s Matt Berninger, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O, Sharon Van Etten, Ben Harper, Courtney Barnett, The Kronos Quartet, Angel Olsen, The Kills’ Alison Mosshart, and more to be announced.

The house band will include Tony Shanahan and Lenny Kaye from Patti’s band, Red Hot Chili PeppersFlea, and Rolling StonesSteve Jordan.

Dorf told Rolling Stone that the setlist won’t be a recreation of Horses but will include songs from Patti’s full catalog, including readings of her spoken word pieces.

VIP tickets and standard tickets are on sale now, and proceeds go to music education programs for underserved youth.
