London’s Blue Bendy announce debut album, share “Come on Baby, Dig!” video

London six-piece Blue Bendy hail from the same scene as Squid and Black Country New Road, and make similarly complex, sinewy indie rock. The band have released a steady stream of singles and EPs since 2019 and have now announced their debut album, So Medieval, which will be out April 12 via The state51 Conspiracy (Shit & Shine, MEMORIALS).

With the announcement they’ve shared new single “Come on Baby, Dig!,” which packs a lot of twists and turns into its three-minute run time, starting off gentle and jazzy before emitting intermittent blasts of anthemic grandeur. “Dig is dedicated to an old flame and a city break,” says singer and lyricist Arthur Nolan. “I was eat pray loving, digging around for some culture in the wake of breaking up. The wheels came off the trip quickly, and now I won’t go back to Bologna, I’m banned.”

The video for “Come on Baby, Dig!” was directed by Michael Julings and stars performance artist and Marina Abramović collaborator Laura Schuller. Watch that below.

Blue Bendy have a UK tour starting in April and all dates are listed below.
