An special NYC show this month will benefit Bad Brains vocalist H.R., who has been unable to tour while suffering from SUNCT (Short-lasting Unilateral Neuralgiform with Conjunctival injection and Tearing) headaches. “PMA INNA BK” happens on Sunday, April 28 at Brooklyn Bowl, and performers include members of Living Colour and Fishbone doing a set of H.R. and Bad Brains dub and hardcore material, along with a special performance by Subatomic Sound System ft. Screechy Dan.
The lineup for the Bad Brains sets includes DJ Spooky; Living Colour’s Corey Glover (vocals), Vernon Reid (guitar), Doug Wimbish (bass), and Will Calhoun (drums); Fishbone’s Norwood Fisher (bass); Steel Pulse’s Sidney Mills (keys); Dr. Israel (vocals); and more to be announced. Tickets are on sale now.
A Los Angeles benefit for H.R. last year featured covers of Bad Brains from Dave Lombardo, Fishbone, and more.
Fishbone are also touring with Primus and Coheed and Cambria in the summer, and Living Colour have festival dates lined up, including Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville.
