Shudder to Think aren’t just playing shows again, they’re releasing new music — specifically a 7″ single on Dischord that features two brand new songs, their first in 27 years. They’ve been selling it at the merch table over the last couple weeks but it’s officially out Friday (order here) and you can listen to both songs now.
“Thirst Walk” and “Playback” both have that unmistakable Shudder to Think sound: mathy post hardcore with Craig Wedren’s balletic vocals over the top. “The new songs are the first of a trove of new songs we’re working on together, all of which feel very much like Shudder To Think,” says Craig. “To keep things playful and raw-ish, we have been doing almost everything ourselves in my backyard studio (Pink Ape Studios, Los Angeles) with some remote overdubbing from our various home studios. What you hear is us, together, hard at play!”
In case you missed it above, Craig said these were the “first of a trove of new songs,” so sounds like Shudder to Think will be even busier in 2026. An album? Stay tuned for details. Meanwhile, listen to “Thirst Walk” and “Playback” below.
