Men I Trust are releasing two interconnected albums this year and the first of those, Equus Asinus, dropped today. Listen to it below.
“Early in the writing and recording process, we realized we had a collection of songs with distinct energies yet equally meaningful to us,” the band said last week. “It became clear that we wanted to release them as two separate entities both from the same genus: Equus Asinus and Equus Caballus. 🫏🐎 Both album covers are pictures taken by Donna Ferrato, an exceptional photographer we feel lucky and honoured to collaborate with.”
On first listen, Equus Asinus sounds like what you expect from Men I Trust: light, jazzy and very catchy pop, with baroque touches. It sounds pretty nice — listen for yourself below.
No word yet on when Equus Caballus will be out, but Men I Trust will be on tour this summer, including the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival on July 18. All dates are listed below.
